hit the same crash shape and dug in.
root cause: the builder only treats 401 (api.ts onError -> clearSession -> layout redirect) and 403 (reload -> login) as session-death signals. but visiting another cloud tenant leaves a session state where the appPackage call doesn't come back as either. … a fully invalidated session (no ctx.user) passes straight through, so the failure surfaces as an unhandled error and the workspace layout renders the "Something went wrong" dead end.
fix: the workspace layout's init catch now probes the session (auth.getSelf, non-throwing) before showing the crash page … patch in the linked PR: #19643
